Day 20: To belt or not to belt?

It's important to plan well for a day of sitting or standing in a booth at a conference, attempting to sell books and give away journals about engineering.  Here is the thought process behind this outfit:
  • Must look professional
  • Must wear something I don't usually wear
  • Must have comfortable shoes
  • Preferably needs to be ironed
I always bring clothes that need to be ironed to conferences because I prefer ironing when it's not at my own house. I think that's because it's easier to get the ironing board out of the closet when there aren't 15 coats in front of it, and because people will put it away for me when I'm done.

Vest: Merona (Target) via a clothing swap
Collared shirt: Gap
Skirt: Sears
Wedges: Payless
Belt: J. Crew

  1. Come back from the conference! Also, I love this outfit.

  2. Love it with the belt!!

  3. I like the belted option too! I'm impressed about the ironing - I don't think I've ever used a hotel iron. :)

  4. I'm glad you guys like it with the belt--that's how I actually wore it all day!

  5. My housekeepers never put the iron away for me!

It looks great with the belt!

  6. This is a new way of determining what a really great hotel is..If they're awesome, they will put away your iron. My iron and ironing board are still out...

  7. Oh, and also: Jan, remember how you didnt want me to take this vest shirt, even though it was free? I'm glad I was able to make you a convert!
