Day 135: Toasty

Can you tell I really like these yellow leaves? I'll be sad when they finally get cleaned up.  I picked up this sweater recently because another one of my conclusions for a better wardrobe is More Sweaters, Fewer Sweatshirts.  This is just as comfortable, but has more of a style.  In the old days (pre-July 6, 2011), I would have probably worn this sweater with a brown long-sleeve tee underneath. But since starting this project and reading fashion and style blogs, I wanted to do something a little more exciting. I thought that contrasting patterns in a gray or tan similar to what is in the sweater would be ideal, but I don't have anything that fits that description. This black and white striped shirt will have to do. What would you wear under this sweater?

Sweater and bag: Target
Top: Betsy's, from Gap
Jeans: Tommy Hilfiger via TJ Maxx
Boots: Gift from Mom, Kenneth Cole via Marshalls
Necklace: Gift from Margaret
Pearly earrings: ??
Sunglasses: Gap

  1. This is such a good casual Friday outfit, Lindsay. I love the striped shirt you're wearing under the sweater. I guess you decided that you won't be giving the sweater as a Christmas gift. He-he!

    P.S. Yesterday's mystery Stephanie wasn't me. :)

  2. Ha! I would have done the same as you and put a brown shirt under it - but if you wanted to branch out, maybe not so much patterned, but a teal or plum would be a nice contrast. If you wanted patterned, what about a floral button up?

  3. love love love your sweater! Been looking for one like that for ages! shame we dont have a target in the uk!
    Rachel :)

  4. a. I love that sweater, it looks SO cozy!
and b. what the heck? why don't the streets in my city look that awesome when the leaves fall? my street just looks dirty, that one looks awesome! haha

  5. love this outfit! that sweater! those boots!

  6. Great fall look! Boots, leggings, sweater, what more could a girl ask for?!?!

  7. Thanks everyone! It's reassuring to know that one of the outfits that gets the most love consists of one of my newest pieces. Means I should go shopping more, I think!

Meesch, it's true that Philadelphia is beautiful! Think this will change its reputation for being the dirty city?
