Day 135: Toasty

Can you tell I really like these yellow leaves? I'll be sad when they finally get cleaned up.  I picked up this sweater recently because another one of my conclusions for a better wardrobe is More Sweaters, Fewer Sweatshirts.  This is just as comfortable, but has more of a style.  In the old days (pre-July 6, 2011), I would have probably worn this sweater with a brown long-sleeve tee underneath. But since starting this project and reading fashion and style blogs, I wanted to do something a little more exciting. I thought that contrasting patterns in a gray or tan similar to what is in the sweater would be ideal, but I don't have anything that fits that description. This black and white striped shirt will have to do. What would you wear under this sweater?

Day 64: A look back at a dress

I owe you sweet, patient readers a few extra pictures of outfits that didn't get captured on camera the first time around. I brought a few pieces that I've already worn to my parents' house for a little photo shoot to catch up a little bit over the weekend. I wore this dress on my sick day that entailed half a day at work and another half a day asleep. This might just be the easiest, comfiest dress I own.

I also updated Day 88 and added some new pictures of my Theta baseball tee and Phillies hoodie here.

Day 60: A Longer Purple Dress

Even though I didn't have Maryland crabs this summer, I had the most delightful dining experience on Sunday. Rebecca has always talked about taking Dave and me to Woodberry Kitchen in Baltimore, but we didn't make it there until this weekend. Rebecca and Dan were in Minnesota, but we went to brunch with Dave's parents, and what a brunch it was. So charming, so fresh, and so memorable. The attire there is "casual elegant", which sounds like my favorite kind of category, but I didn't prepare adequately for it as I packed, which means that I stopped for this maxi-dress on the way to brunch.  Not to be confused with this purple dress, today's has a pretty lace overlay on the back, which I'll have to show you another day.  These pictures were taken outside of the restaurant.
