Day 35: Casual black dress

We were all set to make mango chicken for dinner tonight, but the chicken had other plans. It was still frozen after being in the fridge for two days, so we had the perfect excuse to go to Xochitl for dinner.

Dress: Betsy's from Old Navy
Shoes: Payless
Necklace: Made by Mom's friend Suzanne

Day 35: On Earrings

I had my first blog casualty yesterday and lost this post about earrings.  I'm quite good at losing my earrings, and I also have this pair, which are broken. I haven't worn these earrings in so long that I don't even know if I was previously aware that they were broken. What would you do in this situation? Would you wear broken earrings, or get rid of them? How about all of those earrings I have that are missing their pairs? I hang onto the individual earrings in case I find the match, but it's so rare that I do find them again. Do you expect me to wear the earrings that don't have matches for The Everything Project?

Broken earring!

Not broken earring!

Day 34: Cubicle Living

I am lucky to have great coworkers who understand when it's important to work, and when it's important to take a break. Luckily, Kayla was able to pull herself away from her desk for long enough to show you what happens here in our very professional work environment.

Day 33: Coffee Break

My friend Jan is leaving the cushy world of publishing to become a Spanish teacher, so for her final days here, I will make sure to take her up on her offers for coffee breaks.  She took this picture outside of Fork, etc., and I promise to keep her updated on office gossip when she's away.
Shirt: Banana Republic
Skirt and Shoes: Old Navy
Earrings: Gift from Dave's mom
Headband: Gift from my mom

Day 32: I Love Pancakes

I can't think of anything better than a big, colorful stack of pancakes to wear on a shirt. This outfit got me through cleaning the house, going to the farmer's market, hanging out with friends, and suffering through the Quizzo invitational. There's nothing like paying $10 per person to compete against all of the teams that have the ability to beat you at your own game.
Shirt: Brooklyn Industries
Shorts: J. Crew
Flip flops: Old Navy, gift
Bag full of produce: a work conference in Atlanta (it has a peach on it)
Pink bracelet with heart charm: Gift?

Day 31: Hat on Saturday

On Saturday, I wanted to do the kind of Philadelphia shopping that we might do if we didn't live in the city. We didn't really have any specific errands to run or things to buy, but we dropped in on a few stores that looked fun, and Dave bought a book and two shirts from Philly Aids Thrift after dropping off a bag of clothes he doesn't want anymore. Happy to see him cleaning out those drawers, even though it's partly to make room for his third and fourth Dogfish Head shirts that are coming in the mail this week.
Shirt: RW & Co (Vancouver)
Shorts: J. Crew
Hat: Bucknell
Shoes: Nike
Envelope necklace: Gift
Bag: Vera Bradley (gift)

Day 30: Tropical Treat

For a double date at Mixto, I wanted to wear this tropical silk tube top. I used to love getting dressed up to go out in the city in this shirt, but now I feel too old for tube tops. It matches this dress perfectly, which is good because something needs to happen with the neckline of the dress. It's something I never would have put together before, but it might have something to do with how good those mojitos were. And of course, the basil lemonade at Misconduct to watch the Phillies win was delicious, as usual.

Dress: H&M
Shirt: Lilly Pulitzer
